Eleanor Ann Therrien, 79, of Derry, NH, died Wednesday October 30, 2013 in her home. She was born in Big Spring Texas, on November 20, 1933, a daughter of the late Gordon and Hazel (Jenkins) Anderson, and had been a resident of Derry for the past 49 years. In earlier years, Ann had been very involved in many Derry activities, including the Community Center, Miss Derry pageant, Derry PTA, Chairman of the Library committee just to name a few . She was a member of the Silver Stars at the Palace Theater in Manchester. Ann also traveled with the Red Hatters. She enjoyed playing tennis, playing bridge, painting, antiques, and family.
She is survived by two sons, Andrew Therien of Londonderry, NH, and Michael Therrien of Derry; three grandchildren, Jennifer Therrien, Todd Therien, and Tia Blackman. She was predeceased by her husband, Alcide Therrien in 1993, her son, Alan Therien in 2007, and her granddaughter Diane Therrien in 2009.
Calling hours were held on Sunday, November 3rd from 1 - 3pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Following cremation, a memorial service was held on Tuesday, November 5th at 10:00am in the funeral home. The burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Palace Theater in care of Nancy Duprey, 80 Hanover St., Manchester NH 03101.
