Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) BrocktonMonday at 9 am. Funeral Mass in St. John Church, E. Bridgewater at 10 am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, W. Bridgewater. Visiting hours Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Obituary
Mr. O’Reilly died Tuesday evening at his home under care of hospice after a brief. He was born in Brockton, son of the late Hugh and Delia (Kirk) O’Reilly and was a longtime resident of Brockton before moving to Bridgewater nine years ago. He was a graduate of Brockton High School class of 1940. In 1983 he retired from New England Telephone in Brockton after 35 years as lineman and installer. Mr. O’Reilly served in the US Marine Corps in WW II in thePacific Theatre abroad the USS South Dakota.He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Int’l Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Mr. O’Reilly was also a long time member and supporter of the Old Colony YMCA. He served on the YMCA Camp Committee and Swim Team Committee. He enjoyed visits from his grandchildren, gardening around his house, also enjoyed reading, cooking, and swimming in his pool and trips to Stowe, VT. Communicant of St. John’s Church in East Bridgewater and St. Margaret’s Church when living in Brockton.
Survived by his wife of 62 years Phyllis J. (Rivera) O’Reilly, his children, Maureen Webb of Denver, CO; Kirk O’Reilly of Marshfield; Mark O’Reilly of Brockton; Kevin O’Reilly of Danville, CA and Patricia Buchanan of Bridgewater, 13 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews.
