Obituary

Jane Frances "Coochie" (Roderick) King, 75 of New Bedford died October 29, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital.
She was the wife of John Francis King with whom she shared 52 years of marriage.
Born in Wareham on January 29, 1938, the daughter of the late Frank Lopes Roderick and Mary Elsie (Mendes) Roderick, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Jane was formerly employed by Aerovox and Cornell Dublier as a key punch operator until her retirement. In retirement, she enjoyed volunteering as a foster grandparent at PACE preschool.
She enjoyed trips to the casino, family gatherings and cookouts. Jane was a member of the NAACP. She graduated from Wareham High School in 1957.
Survivors include her husband; her three children, John Francis King, Jr. and his wife Amy of South Carolina, Debra King and her wife Amy Garland-King of New Bedford and Darin King and his fiancée Lisa Robertson of Wareham; seven sisters, Jean Alves, Joan Fontes and her husband Eduardo, Laura Lopes and her former husband Anthony, Elsie Ganeto, Christine Roderick, Rita Barnett and her former husband Paul, all of Wareham and Judy "Ju-Ju" Santos and her husband Russell of New Bedford; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was the mother of the late Deidrea King, aunt of the late Thomas Frank Roderick and sister-in-law of the late Alfred Ganeto.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Saturday, November 2nd at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, November 1st from 4-8 PM.
