Obituary

Carol A. (LeBlanc) Groux, age 65, of Brockton, died unexpectedly, October 28, 2013 at Signature Healthcare-Brockton Hospital. She was the wife of the late Roy W. Groux. Born in Boston she was the daughter of the late Albert J. and Claire A. (Smith) LeBlanc. Raised in Dorchester, she was a graduate of Monsignor Ryan Memorial High School. Carol was a longtime member of Teamsters Local 653 where she was Shop Steward for several years. For nearly 30 years she was a van driver for First Student Special Needs Children, retiring in 2008. Carol was an advocate for special needs children, and she and her husband created the Downey Special Needs Little League and Basketball teams. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and was known for her great sense of humor and loving and caring disposition.

Carol is survived by her children Yvette Bedard of So. Carolina, Michael Groux and his wife Diane of Everett, Suzanne Groux of Brockton and Roy W. Groux, Jr. of Brockton. She leaves seven grandchildren, Heather, Michael, Britney, Brett, Catherine, Jayme and Jacob, a great grandson Jayden and sister Pauline C. O’Connell of Bourne. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton on Sunday 2-5pm. Services will be held Monday, November 4, 2013 at 12:30pm in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
