Obituary

Henry R. ‘Bob’ Dupuis, 76 of Salem, died Sunday, October 27, 2013 at the NSMC / Salem Hospital following a brief illness. He was the husband of June A. (Demeule) Dupuis, with whom he shared 47 years of marriage.

Born in Lynn and raised in Saugus, he was the son of the late Henry A. Dupuis and the late Florence L. ‘Blanche’ (Lemelin) Dupuis McCulley. Bob first worked as a truck driver for the former Beach Bluff Supermarket in Swampscott and later for the Cott’s Beverage Co. where he also worked as a mechanic. He also served two enlistments with the Army National Guard. For several years he was a partner in the Stewart & Dupuis Service Station in downtown Salem. He began working as a mechanic for New England Telephone and retired from NYNEX with 25 years with the company.

Following his retirement, he and June would winter in Florida and return to Salem for the summer. Bob loved spending time with his family and was an avid fisherman. He was a long time member of the Palmer Cove Yacht Club of Salem.

In addition to his wife June, he is survived by two daughters, Judith A. Borden of Salem, Denise A. Wells and her husband Paul of Salem, three sons, Leo S. Dupuis and his wife Janice of Salem, Henry ‘Bob’ Dupuis and his wife Lee Anne of Danvers, Michael R. Dupuis and his wife Deborah of Monson, two sisters, June T. Robinson and her husband Jack of Lynn, Louise F. Dupuis and her devoted friend Claire Michaud both of Salem. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Jennifer, John, Justin, Julia, Amanda, Brittany, Cody, Devan, & Kayla, and four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Lucas, Layla & Nevaeh, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St.[Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at 7:45 A.M. to be followed by his funeral mass in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem at 9:00 A.M. Visiting hours in the funeral home will be on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
