Marion L. McGilvray, age 97, of Woburn, passed away Tuesday evening following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph D. McGilvray Sr. Born in Woburn she was the daughter of the late Nora (Walsh) and Daniel Judge.
Mrs. McGilvray was a lifelong resident of Woburn and graduated from Woburn High School with the class of 1926. She was also a lifelong parrishioner of St. Joseph Church. Working into her 80´s she held several jobs. She was the secretary for the former Mayor Albert Peterson and worked for many years as a bookkeeper with the A.J. Moore Construction Co. and later with the J.F. Lux Transportation Co. both of Woburn. She enjoyed traveling and being very socially active. She was a member of the Ladies Sodality at St. Joseph Church and was very active with the Goodyear School PTA. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to VNA of Middlesex East & Visiting Nurse Hospice, 607 North Ave, suite 17, Wakefield, MA 01880.
In addition to her late husband, Marion is preceded in death by many dear brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children, Joseph D. McGilvray Jr. and his wife Kathy, Paul E. McGilvray and his wife Connie, and Marcia Wells and her husband Michael all of Woburn. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Driscoll, Joseph D. McGilvray III, Michael and Paul Wells.
Funeral from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Friday at 10 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 100 Washington St., Woburn, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 thru 8. Services will conlude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
