Obituary

John V. DiTomasso, 91, of Oregon Avenue died Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at his home. He was the husband of Ida E. (DeMarco) DiTomasso. They were married for 66 years.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Giovanni and Angela M. (LaNinfa) DiTomasso. He had lived in North Providence for 60 years.

Before retiring, Mr. DiTomasso was a model maker for the former Coro Jewelry Company in Providence for 20 years and he had also had worked for Monet and Imperial Pearl Company. He was a WWII veteran of the US Coast Guard that fought in the Pacific Theatre. He was a former member of the St. Augustine Bowling Assn, a member of the Wanskuck Rod and Gun Club and the Knights of Columbus, Bouffard and Dillon Councils. He was a communicant of St. Augustine Church in Providence.

He is also survived by a son, John DiTomasso and his wife Karen of Greenville and a daughter, Mary Ann Paquin of North Providence and grandchildren, Lindsey and Kara DiTomasso and Shannon Paquin. He was the brother of the late Thomas, Joseph, Cosmo, Frank and James DiTomasso, Vincenza Colella and Fannie D’Arezzo.

Funeral Tuesday at 8:45am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visitation Monday 4-7pm.
