Thomas E. “Bo” Day, 87, of Fitzgerald, died Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Friday, October 25, 2013, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Jimmy Cargle and the Rev. Robert Chaudoin officiating. Interment will follow in the Salem Cemetery, Ben Hill County. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Day was born January 7, 1926, in Ben Hill County, Georgia to the late Homer Garfield and Ethel Mercier Day. He attended school in Mystic and served his country honorably in the United States Army during World War II. He was a retired sheet metal specialist for Robins Air Force Base. He formerly lived in Bonaire and Winter Haven, Florida. He returned to Ben Hill County in 1990 and was a member of West Side Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Corene Holton Day of Fitzgerald; daughter and son-in-law: Linda Kaye Steverson and Royce of Fitzgerald; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and two sisters: Mary Ruth Walker of Fitzgerald and Thelma Laminack of Bonaire. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Ronnie E. Day and one sister.
