Obituary

DUDLEY - Albert S. “Big Al” Jackson, Jr., 83, of Dudley, died Monday, October 21, 2013 in Harrington Memorial Hospital, Southbridge with his family at his side.
He leaves his wife of 56 years, Dorothy B. “Dot” (Brush) Jackson; 2 sons, Gilbert L. Jackson and his wife Gail of Webster and Gary B. Jackson and his wife Kristin of Bondsville; 2 grandsons, Erik Jackson and Matthew Bard and his wife Caitlin; a brother, Milton Jackson of Lebanon, Maine; a sister, Marilyn Cabral of Rumford, RI; nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a grandson, Michael Bard and by a sister Avis Jackson.
He was born and raised in Providence, a son of Albert S. Jackson, Sr. and Ethel (Gerlach) Jackson. He graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1948. He lived in Centredale, RI after his marriage, moving here in 1960.
He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Jackson worked for Rowe Vending of Pawtucket, RI at Cranston Print Works Company in Webster for many years before he retired in 1993. He enjoyed playing cribbage and horseshoes. He also played golf. His favorite teams were the Detroit Tigers and the Chicago Bears. He had a great love for all animals.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday, October 26, in the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster. Calling hours will be from 10:00 AM to noon Saturday in the funeral home.
