Julian “Monty” Adams
Augusta, GA -One measure of a man is found in how he loved, and Monty Adams loved ferociously, -- especially his son Satcher Adams and wife of 24 years Mary A. Sicard.
He loved to putt and drive though often did not like their results. He loved the catch and release of large mouth bass, fine antiques, a great meal, a good merlot. He loved those Braves, those Dawgs, his dog Moxie and Ridin’ in My Car with NRBQ.
He loved Garrison Keillor, Kurt Vonnegut and Richard Russo. And for the record, George Clooney looked like him.
He loved his sisters Julie (Allen) Dean and Shannon (Stan) Ingram, brothers Robbie Breshears, Scott (Beth) Breshears and Charlie (Donna) Adams. He loved in life and in memory his brother Jimmy Adams, dad Weldon Adams and mom Ann Spivey.
Monty died on Oct. 21, 2013, of complications of Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia, a blood vessel disorder. Drs. James Gossage, Subbaramiah Sridhar and Abdullah Kutlar along with Sandy Clay’s “Good Care People” in MCG’s ICUs gave Monty five-star medical care time and time again.
Please join us for a celebration of his life on Thurs., Oct. 24, at 2 p.m. at Lake Olmstead Park, 2200 Broad St. His ashes will be scattered in a private ceremony later that day.
