Obituary

Charles E. Hopkins, Jr. of Sun City West, Arizona, formerly of Salem, NH, passed away peacefully at Holy Family Hospital, Methuen, Mass.
Charles is survived by his wife, Mary Rita (Gilbo) Hopkins, and his sons, Charles E. Hopkins III of Marco Island, FL; John Hopkins and his wife, Jean, of Wakefield, MA; and Michael Hopkins and his wife, Vicky, of Salem, NH; and his daughters, Mary K. Hopkins Bower and her husband, Thomas, of Marco Island, FL; and Susan Hopkins of Naples, FL.; and his grandchildren, Kelly and Steve, Kate, Meredith, John Charles, Madison, Natalie, and Luke. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Ann Marie Hopkins, and brother-in-law, Charles St. Paul, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Leonard Hopkins, and his sisters, Rita St. Paul and Mary Bernard and her husband Andrew.
Charles was born in Lawrence, MA, to the late Mary (Slosek) and Charles E. Hopkins Sr. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and Merrimack College, and served in the United States Navy. He was a successful sales manager and business owner until his retirement in Arizona, where he was member of the poker club and Briarwood Country Club.
He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, whose kindness and sense of humor will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 4:00PM following the visitation hours.
