Obituary

WORCESTER___Thomas J. Kimbar, 64, of 6 Southold Rd., died Monday Sept. 20, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center.

He leaves his wife of 42 years, Dolores T. (Stachelek) Kimbar, four sons, Michael T. Kimbar of Las Vegas; Paul F. Kimbar and his wife Wendy of Hubbardston; Christopher J. Kimbar and his wife Tammy of Worcester and David M. Kimbar of Worcester; a brother, Henry Kimbar of Worcester; five sisters, Sophie M. Kimbar, Jane M. Kimbar and Christine D. Kudron all of Worcester; Mary T. Conway of Weymouth and Sr. M. Audrey Kimbar, CSFN, of Philadelphia; three granddaughters, and nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a sister and six brothers, Bertha, Edward, Chester, Joseph, Stanley, Charles and John Kimbar. He was born in Worcester son of Alexander and Josephine (Sokolowski) Kimbar.

Mr. Kimbar was a special education teacher many years for the Auburn school system and retired five years ago. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School and received his bachelors degree from Worcester State College. He earned his masters degree from Assumption College.

He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and enjoyed woodworking and sports.

The funeral will be held on Thursday Sept. 23 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Wednesday Sept. 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, Ma., 02445.
