John Martin Miller Jr., 59 of New Portland Maine, died Saturday September 18, peacefully at home.
Born in Stoneham, he has lived in Maine for the past 5 years and fromerly of Tewksbury and Medford.
He graduated from Medford High School, Class of 1962 and served 4 years in the U.S. Marine Corps where he was appointed Lance Corporal. He received a National Defense Service medal, Rifle Marksman Badge and Pistol Marksman Badge.
John graduated from Fisher Junior College with an Associates Degress in Science and worked at New England Telephone Company from which he retired as Foreman after 30 years of service.
John Miller was a man that people talked about. They’d say he’s a man to look up to. A man that is strong and determined, and deep down a gentle soul.
Beloved husband of Jenny L. (D´Alelio). Devoted father of John M. Miller III and his wife Shannon of Farmington, New Mexico, Christina M. St. Cyr and her husband Ray of Scarborough, Maine. Loving grandfather of Brianna, Aleigha, and Kiersten. Cherished son of Ann (Settemio) and John M. Miller Sr. of Malden. Brother of Suzanne Berti and her husband James of Topsfield. Uncle of James,Rene, and Nicole.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Saturday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 9 AM.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
