CHICOPEE – David G. Harnois, 56, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, October 13, 2013. He passed into Eternal Life at the Hospice of the Fisher Home in Amherst surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family and his wonderful caregivers. He was born in Holyoke on August 24, 1957, a beloved son of the late Noella J. (Goyette) Harnois who was Called Home on Saturday December 7, 2013 and the late George M. Harnois who was Called Home on February 5, 1996. He was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School and was a lifelong resident of the city. He was a longtime carpenter and was employed by the Carpenter’s Local 108. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his loving brother, Eric H. Harnois who was Called Home on August 11, 2004. He leaves his loving brother and sister-in-law, Michael E. Harnois and his wife, Robin, of Belchertown; his three cherished nephews, Jeffrey and his fiancée, Kathleen Flynn, Evan Harnois and Nathan Harnois; his cherished grandniece, Piper Harnois; and his many dear uncles, aunts, cousins and extended members of the Harnois and Goyette families. His relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, December 14, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. which will be followed by a Prayer Service beginning at 11 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The Rite of Committal for David, his brother, Eric, and his mother, Noella, will follow the Prayer Service at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
