Obituary

Charles Hodge “Chuck” Ravell, 84, passed away on October 17, 2013 in Exeter Hospital in New Hampshire.
Born in Danvers on August 7, 1929, he was the son of the late Albert B. and Dorothy (Hodge) Ravell. Chuck graduated from Swampscott High School. He resided in the North Shore area for much of his life before retiring to Las Vegas. He has lived with his son Bob in Hampton, NH for the past two and a half years. He had been employed at First National Supermarkets for over 40 years. Chuck also had been employed at Beverly Hospital in the shipping and receiving department for 10 years. He was active with the Boy Scouts and was assistant Scout Master for Troop 1 in Beverly. He had been a member of the French American Club in Beverly and the Moose Club in Salem. Chuck also was an avid golfer and Boston sports fan.
He is survived by his sons, John Ravell of Barnstead, NH and Bob Ravell and his partner, Synthia Buzzell of Hampton, NH, his sister Gloria Hopkins of Danvers, several grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Charles Henry Ravell, and sisters, Virginia Hazlett and Marjorie Peters.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9AM on Thursday, October 24, 2013 in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4-8PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Chuck’s name to the Rockingham VNA, 137 Epping Rd., Exeter, NH, 03833.
