Obituary

WAYLAND: Robert T. “Bob” LaRochelle, 72, died peacefully and comfortably with his wife Shirley at his side on October 18, 2013 at the Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham following a brief illness.
He was born in Cambridge on June 14, 1941 the son of the late Bernard LaRochelle and Margaret (Barry) LaRochelle.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Shirley E. (May) LaRochelle of Wayland. He was the father of Carolann LaTour and her husband Alden of Holden and Teresa Montemurro and her husband Ciro of Lunenberg. He was the uncle of Sean Larkin of Whitman and was the brother-in-law of George Larkin of East Bridgewater. Bob was the step-father of Kenneth D. Thompson and his wife Clare of Westford; Shirley M. Sheridan and her husband Michael of Southborough; Betty A. Thompson of Dracut; David E. Thompson and his wife Kate of Central Village, CT and the late Albert B. Thompson who died in November of 1986. Also survived by 24 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Elaine (LaRochelle) Larkin who died in 1976.
Bob has been a resident of Wayland for the past 40 years and previously resided in Framingham and Quincy. He graduated from North Quincy High School with the Class of 1960. He never missed the annual Thanksgiving Day Game at Quincy and enjoyed it with many of his dearest friends. In his earlier years he enjoyed photography and fresh water fishing. He loved camping, being outdoors and gardening around his home. He was a 50 gallon donor to the American Red Cross. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his ability to always make people feel welcome and to laugh. Bob spent many years as a forklift operator for the Gillette Corporation in Boston and Andover and also held his real estate license. He loved animals great and small and especially his pets over the years.
Visitations will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland.
Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 9:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Zepherin Church, 99 Main St (Rte 27), Wayland.
Interment will follow in the LaRochelle family lot in Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.
