Nicholson, John Stephen of Wellesley formerly of Newton Highlands, “John, Jack, Nick, Steve”, age 72. Peacefully passed away on October 14, 2013 after a brief illness. John is survived by his loving wife Lynda (Butt) Nicholson, his brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Sherry Nicholson of Charlottesville, VI, and Dingle Bay, Ireland. Son of the late Thomas and Helen Nicholson and brother David all of Newton Highlands. John was an honors graduate in English and History at Suffolk University and Boston University. Following college John was a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during the Vietnam War. Following his service he taught English at Bentley University and Waltham High School. He was also an assistant director of the CETA Program Waltham-Newton.
Funeral Service in the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St. Wellesley, Sunday, Oct. 20 at 1:00pm. Visitation prior to service from 12-1pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made in John’s name to the Newton-Wellesley Hospital Intensive Care Unit at 2014 Washington St. Newton, MA 02462.
