Obituary

DUDLEY – Wanda M. Dapkiewicz, 84, formerly of Dudley, died Monday, October 14, 2013 in Beaumont Nursing Home, Westborough, after a period of declining health.
She leaves 2 nieces, Dr. Beverly F. Wedda and her spouse Denise Frizzell of Hudson and Susan B. Wedda and her partner Michelle Rediker of Brighton. She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Frances Wedda and Mildred Dapkiewicz.
She was born and raised in Hopedale, daughter of John and Jadwiga A. (Zukowski) Dapkiewicz. She moved to Dudley in the early 1960’s and then lived at Whitney Place in Westborough since 2009. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Milford and studied to be a hairdresser in Boston.
Miss Dapkiewicz first worked as a hairdresser at the Amy Brenner Salon in Worcester. She then taught hairdressing at Worcester Trade School. Later, she worked at the Webster First Federal Credit Union in Webster, first as a teller and then as a customer service representative, retiring as a supervisor in 1994.
She was a communicant of Saint Andrew Bobola Church and a weekly adorer at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel in Webster. She enjoyed painting and gardening.
The family would like to thank the staff at Whitney Place for their tender care of Wanda.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, October 22, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main Street. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. A calling period will be from 9:00 to 10:30 AM Tuesday, October 22, in the funeral home. Donations in her name may be made to either the Alzheimer’s Support Network, PO Box 839, Southbridge, MA 01550-0839 or to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, 17 East Main St., Webster, MA 01570.
