Whynot, Vivian Ritcey, Age 85. Passed away Thursday, October 11, 2013 after a valiant 3 year fight against Ovarian Cancer.
Born in Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia, Canada; moved to Wellesley, MA upon marriage and relocated to Silver Spring, MD in 1996. Beloved wife of the late Arnold Whynot; loving mother to James Whynot, Geoffrey Whynot, Carol Whynot Neill and Donald Whynot. Mother-in-law to George Neill and Kathleen Whynot. Proud grandmother to Elizabeth Whynot, Rachel Whynot, Caitlin (Neill) McGuire, Emily Neill and Spencer Neill.
Vivian will be remembered for her strong spirit, quick wit and devotion to her faith. Vivian babysat over 40 children during her life and she always treated those children as her own. Vivian lived for her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.
A celebration of her life will take place on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at 11:30 at the Oak Chapel United Methodist Church, 14500 Layhill Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20906. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Vivian’s name to Oak Chapel United Methodist Church.
