Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Lester M. Gray, II, 62, died unexpectedly at his residence on Sunday, October 13, 2013. He was the husband of Irisa (Posadas) Gray.
Born in Beverly on January 16, 1951, he was the son of the late Lester M. and Mary D. (Arvilla) Gray. He attended Gloucester public schools.
A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he was stationed in Korea at Camp Edwards and was honorably discharged in November of 1972.
Lester was employed by the City of Gloucester within the Department of Public Works for forty years, having retired in 2010.
He was known to have a good sense of humor and was a practical joker. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and carving and was an avid collector of numerous items including arrow heads and military toys. He was also an excellent cook and enjoyed trying out new recipes.
In addition to his wife of twenty-four years, he is survived by his sister, Gloria Quinn Corliss; brother, Philip, husband of Hilda Gray; several nieces and nephews including Kevin Quinn, as well as twenty nieces and nephews in the Philippines and one in Germany, who adored him. He was also predeceased by his brother, Donald Gray and brother-in-law, Lawrence Corliss.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday morning in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9 to 11 a.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Susan G.
