Anthony Palladino

TEWKSBURY: Anthony E."Tony" Palladino, age 77, a Tewksbury resident for 13 years, formerly of Chelsea, passed away at home, with his family by his side, on Sunday, October 13, 2013.
He was the beloved husband of Caroline A.(Haumann) Palladino, with whom he celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 12, 2013.
Born in Chelsea on July 20, 1936, he was the son of the late Atillio Palladino and Grace (Richards) Palladino.
Tony was raised in Chelsea, attended St. Rose Elementary School and graduated from Malden Catholic High School. Following high school, Tony attended Boston College.
In 1959, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served with the 61st Artillery, Battery A, 3rd Missile Battalion.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 35 years by the Verizon Corporation in Boston, where he worked as a Method and Procedure Writer.
Tony was a past member of the Granite Statesmen Barber Shop Chorus and several barber shop quartets, past Grand Knight of the Chelsea Knights of Columbus, and a former member of St. Adelaide's Church in West Peabody and the Holy Trinity Church in South Boston, where he sang in the choir.
Tony enjoyed singing, music, following all the New England sports teams, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his son, Matthew J. Palladino and his wife Linda of Leominster; two daughters, Susan C. Stephenson and her husband Arthur of Townsend, and Madeline E. Palladino and her companion Joseph Fruciano of Saugus; his foster son, Paul Lackey of Kentucky; his son-in-law, Robert Margossian of Billerica, seven grandchildren, Samantha and John Madigan, Dana Margossian, Katelyn and Andrew Palladino, Gabrielle and Garrett Stephenson; three brothers, William Palladino and his wife Virginia of North Reading, Albert Palladino of Chelsea, and Robert Palladino and his wife Barbara of Indianapolis, IN; also many nieces and nephews.
Tony was the father of the late Maryellen Margossian and brother of the late Richard Palladino.
Calling hours will be Thursday, Oct. 17, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. His funeral will be held Friday, Oct. 18, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Andrews Church, 45 Talbot Ave., Billerica. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tony's memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
