Shirley Margaret Darby, 72, of Litchfield, NH, wife of Walter E. Darby, died on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Greenbriar Terrace Nursing Center in Nashua, NH. Shirley was born in Waltham MA., she was a daughter of the late William and Frances (Hall) Dunsford. Shirley was a great talent for making stuffed shells and everyone enjoyed when she cooked them and she loved to entertain the neighborhood kids and was known to have them along with her kids marching around her house. She and her family were known for late night poker games. Shirley loved to take a ball of yarn and knit all types of things then after completing her project she would pull it all apart and start a new project.
Surviving in addition to her husband Walter she is survived by her children, Debbie Donlon, Walter Darby, Shirley Stapp and David Darby; nine grandchildren, Jessica, Monika, Nicholas, Jillian, Kevin, Jacob, Lilliannah, Melinda, and Timothy; two great-grandchildren, Isabella and Kyleigh. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, William John Dunsford, Charles Dunsford, Ellen Mae Wade, Betty Ann Baird, and Patricia Grant. Shirley was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Richard Dunsford.
A calling hour was held from 2-3pm on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. A memorial service followed at 3pm in the funeral home.
