Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday at 8:30am. Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, N. Easton at 10am. Burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday 8:30-9:30am. In lieu of flowers donations in Sophie’s name may be made to the Charity Guild, Inc., PO Box 2372, Brockton, MA 02305-2372.

Sophie M. (Komeroski) Toomey, 97 years, died Sunday morning at the Brockton Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Poland, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Charlotte (Essen) Komeroski. At the age of seven, she and her family moved to the United States and settled in Bridgewater where she was raised and graduated from Bridgewater High School. She had been a resident of Brockton for over 40 years; retired to Wareham, and had been a resident of North Easton for the past 12 years. Mrs. Toomey was an avid reader, loved to play cards and enjoyed time spent with her family.
She is survived by one daughter Barbara J. Cerce and her husband Anthony of N. Easton, four grandchildren, Mark Cerce, Beth Cerce and Steven Cerce all of N. Easton and Laura Domenico of Pelham NH, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the wife of the late James J. Toomey Jr. and sister of the late Pauline Foley.
