Francis Iannotti, 96, of George Street in Johnston died Saturday in the Morgan Health Center, Johnston.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Giuseppe and Maria (Vincella) Iannotti. He had lived in Johnston his whole life. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church, Johnston. He was an Army Veteran of WW II.
Frank, along with his brother Tommy, were self-employed working at their convenience store, Iannotti’s Market on Greenville Avenue in Johnston for over 50 years. Fire destroyed the store in 1998 but was rebuilt by their many friends and wonderful community. Frank retired in 2004.
He leaves his loving nieces, Celia (Torelli) Troia of Johnston, and Anna (Iannotti) Hitz of Burlingame, CA. He also leaves his loving great nieces, Brenda -Lee Troia of Johnston and Terry (Troia) Melei of Cranston. He was the brother of the late Celeste “Esther” Iannotti, Filomena (Iannotti) Torelli, Pietro Iannotti, Thomas Iannotti and Michael Iannotti.
His funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday at 9am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. A Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Our Lady of Grace Church, George Waterman Road, Johnston. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Respectfully Omitted.
