Regina A. "Gene" Neal
Former Longtime Tewksbury Resident
BILLERICA: Regina A. "Gene" Neal, age 95, a recent resident of Billerica Crossings Assisted Living, formerly of Tewksbury, passed away at home on Friday, October 11, 2013.
Born in East Boston on May 18, 1918, she was one of fourteen children of the late Charles W. Neal and the late Mary Ellen (Kennedy)Neal.
Gene was raised in East Boston, attended East Boston schools and graduated from East Boston High School.
In 1940, she and her family moved to Tewksbury, where she lived for over 70 years until moving to Billerica in 2012.
While residing in Tewksbury, Gene was a communicant of St. William's Parish.
Prior to her retirement, Gene worked as a Supervisor for the Microwave Company in Burlington.
Gene is survived by one sister, Margaret McInerney of Billerica; also many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
She was the sister of the late Mamie Maykovich, Claire Stevenson, Catherine Ray, Connie Neal, Frances Arfwedson, and Charles, John, William, Henry, Edmund, Ted and Joe Neal.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, Oct. 15, from 4-7 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral will be held Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William's Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury.
