Obituary

Dolores (Placido) Rickley, 83, of Methuen, passed away Wednesday October 9th at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston. Mrs. Rickley was born in Lawrence, daughter of the late Anthony and Anna (Licata) Placido. She was raised and educated in Lawrence, graduating from Lawrence High School. Dolores was employed by the Lawrence Public Schools System where she worked as a Title 1 reading teacher for 35 years prior to retirement. She attended St. Lucy's Church of Methuen. In her free time she enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, traveling, attending craft fairs, and spending time at Salisbury Beach in the summer. She was a talented Knitter and an avid Red Sox fan. The time Dolores treasured the most was the time spent with her family.

Dolores is the widow of Alfred P. Rickley and is survived by a daughter Judith A. Rickley of Methuen; a son, Mark A. Rickley of Methuen; a sister, Thelma Nastasia of Lawrence; a grandson, Mark Rickley; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday October 14th from 4-8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday October 15th at 9 AM at St Lucy's Church in Methuen with burial to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
