Obituary

Taunton, Evelyn P (Costa) Rose passed away on Oct. 8 2013 at Longmeadow of Taunton after a lengthy illness. She was born and raised in Dighton Ma daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Gasper) Costa. She would have been "90" in November. She was the loving wife of the late Thomas Rose. She was also predeceased by her brothers George, John, Raymond and Stephen Costa and three sisters Margaret (Costa) Hull, Mary (Costa) Almedia and Thelma Costa. She is survived by a sister Emma (Costa,Carreiro) Alphonse of Wareham and she has a large extended family of nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews in Taunton who had a special love for their special Aunt. She also leaves behind some very special friends in Martinez California that were her “family” The Albight Family adopted Evie and she was a devoted Aunt, Godmother and friend. They have kept in touch over the past 10 years since her return from California. She has had some help from her niece Dolores Costa since her illness in keeping in touch with them. She also had some other special friends in California Tina, GiGi, Twila, Roseanna, Mike, Jackie, Laverne and John to name a few. She and her husband moved to California shortly after their marriage in 1945 and lived until his passing. She returned to the Taunton area to be near family. She loved being with her family. That was the happiest time for her. She also loved playing cards, bingo, having breakfast at Simon Says with her friends and family and also liked going to the Oakland seniors group. Her wonderful spirit, joy of living and doing for others will be missed by all that knew her and were touched by her. As there will be no viewing and the family will have a private celebration of her life, Evie would like all her friends and family to share a loving kindness to a friend or family member in her memory. The family would like to thank the staff at Longmeadow for their care and support during this difficult time. We would also like to thank her many friends for their cards prayers and visits. A special thank you to her roommate Mary for being her guardian angel in her last weeks.
