Fall River – Alphonso Noto, 86, of Westport died Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Alfreda J. (Mardula) Noto.
Mr. Noto was born in Fall River, son of the late Gasparini and Elvira (Esposito) Noto, and had resided in Westport since 1962. He served his country in WWII in the United States Army and was a member of V.F.W., W.A.R. Ouellette Post 8502 of Westport. Prior to his retirement he was a press operator for Craft Corrugate Box Company in Freetown.
In addition to his widow, he is survived by a son: Stephen T. Noto; a brother: Nofrio Noto of Fall River; a sister: Lena Stafford of Swansea; a grandson: Stephen J. Noto; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Italo Noto, Enrico Noto and Fortunata Proc.
At the request of the family, services will be private.
