Dominic P. Alonzo, 88, of Berlin, NH passed away on Tuesday October 8, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Berlin on April 28, 1925 the son of Vincent and Catherine (Marcheli) Alonzo and was a lifelong resident. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II and met his wife, Albertine, while serving in Austria. Dominic had been employed by the local paper mill for many years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of Good Shepherd Parish and the White Mountain Post #2520 VFW in Berlin.
Members of the family include his wife of 65 years, Albertine (Ptacek) Alonzo of Berlin; sons Peter Dominic Alonzo of Berlin and Richard Larry Alonzo and wife Deborah of Berlin; grandsons Joshua Alonzo and fiancee Brittany Barrows of West Warwick, RI and Jeremy Alonzo of Berlin; great-grandchild Landon Alonzo; nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Sarah Alonzo, brothers Rocco, Guido, Jimmy, Buck, Antonio and Larry and sister Theresa Boutin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday October 15, 2013 at 1 PM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in the St. Kieran Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Tuesday from 10:30 to 12:30, prior to the Mass.
