Obituary

WAYLAND: Barbara Louise (Friberg) Hildreth died peacefully and comfortably surrounded by her loving and devoted husband on October 5, 2013.
She was born in Melrose the daughter of the late Eric Friberg and Elsie (Sjoquist) Friberg.
Barbara is survived by her devoted and cherished husband of 53 years, Leslie F. “Les” Hildreth of Wayland. She was the sister of Phyllis M. Wheeler of Boca Raton, FL and the late Karl A. Friberg. Barbara is also survived by her closest and dearest friends Elaine Hubbard of Rochester, NY; Delight Wolfe of Mystic, CT and Dan Williams of Sudbury. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Barbara and Les have resided in Wayland for the past 47 years and previously in Hyatsville, MD. She spent her earlier years in Malden, Quincy and was a graduate of Sharon High School. Barbara received her nurses training at the New England Baptist School of Nursing and also received her BS in Nursing from Boston University. For many years she was associated with the nursing staff at the New England Baptist Hospital and Lahey Clinic in Boston. She had a strong Christian faith and values and was an active member of the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Wayland and for over 60 years as a member of the Park Street Congregational Church in Boston.
She loved to spend time with her husband Les and they were completely devoted to each other. Barbara also enjoyed spending hours in her gardens in Wayland and doing projects at her home. She was greatly loved by her family and friends and will surely be missed by everyone in the neighborhood.
Visitations will be held on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Rd (Off Rte 30), Wayland,
Her funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Trinitarian Congregational Church, 53 Cochituate Road (Rte 27), Wayland
Private family interment will be held at Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.
In lieu of flowers, her family suggests that memorial gifts in Barbara’s memory may be sent to the Deacons Fund, Trinitarian Congregational Church or the Deacons Fund, Park Street Congregational Church, 1 Park Street, Boston, MA 02108.
