June M. (Arruda) Alves, age 83 formerly of Langley St., Fall River and Swansea passed away Oct. 6, 2013 with her loving family by her side. She was the widow of David Alves and daughter of the late Manuel and Blanche (Charette) Arruda. Prior to retiring, June had worked as a sewing machine operator, and was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assissi Church. June’s happiest times were those spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She retired to devote her time to caring for her beloved husband.
She was the loving mother of Sandra Moreira, husband Ronald of Somerset, David Alves of Fall River, Pamela Wing, husband Robert of Swansea, Robin Alves of TN and Dawn King, husband Clifford of Swansea. She was the sister of Gregory Arruda of Westport, and the late Kenneth Arruda and the late Janet Laliberte. June leaves 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River THURSDAY at 9:45 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis of Assissi Church, Swansea at 11:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Fall River.
