Obituary

MARSHFIELD - James J. Kelley, Jr., 63. A 27 year resident of Marshfield lost his battle with cancer on September 29, 2013. James was a self-employed Marine Draft Surveyor of Port Services & Engineering and worked for 30+ years in the Marine Industry.

His memory will be forever preserved due to his adventurous spirit, infectious optimistic outlook, sense of humor, positive attitude and generosity which brought joy to many. His dedication to hard work and loyalty to his family, many friends & co-workers was a constant throughout his life.

As a Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran James received the Purple Heart Medal, National Defense Service Metal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 bronze stars, and various commendation ribbons.

Husband of the late Sandra M. Kelley who passed away in March, he is survived by son James J. Kelley IV and spouse Jennifer Kelley of Phoenix, AZ, daughter Cheryl A. Kelley, adored grandson Angelo J. Lepere of Cape Coral and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was predeceased by parents Mary and James Kelley, Sr. and his brother William Kelley.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 11th at 10:00am at Our Lady of Assumption Church. Burial will follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
