Mr. Richard C. Floor, of North Dighton, died Friday, October 4 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Judith (Hickey) Floor. He was born 69 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late Barney and June (Neville) Floor. He was educated in Taunton, having graduated from the former Msgr. James Coyle High School and had been a North Dighton resident for the past 38 years. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a plant mechanic for the former Bay State Gas Company for over 40 years. Richard was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Korea during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the Polish-American Citizens Club and was a manager in the Dighton Little League. He was a Boston College football season ticket holder and also enjoyed vacationing at the beach. He was a communicant of St. Nicholas of Myra Parish in North Dighton.
In addition to his wife, he leaves: 1 son: Richard J. Floor of Charlestown, Ma.; 2 sisters: Jacqueline M. Heath and Sharon R. Marshall, both of Taunton, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, on Wednesday, October 9 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Nicholas of Myra Church, No. Dighton, at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
