Frederick W. Giffels, Sr. age 87 of Canton passed away peacefully October 4th at the Hellenic Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Boston, he was a graduate of Northeastern University and Harvard PMD and was a Navy Veteran of WW II. He was the Manager of Information Systems for Boston Edison for 32 years before retiring in 1988 and previously worked for IBM. He has lived in Canton since 1964. Beloved husband of Virginia E. (Purcell). Father of Frederick W. Jr. and his wife Nancy of Nevada, Janet A. Cogliano and her husband Michael of Canton, Kenneth M. and his wife Joan of Mansfield, Lisa Kilp and her husband Christoph of Germany and Pamela Cohen and her husband Jonathan of Canton. He is survived by his only sister Marie (Giffels) Deary-Larkin and her husband Paul of Hingham. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 2 ½ great grandchild.
