Obituary

Roy W. Groux age 69, of Brockton died Wednesday October 2, 2013 at the Signature Healthcare/Brockton Hospital after a period of failing health. He was the loving husband of Carol A. (LeBlanc) Groux. Roy was born in Boston and raised in Palo Alto, California a son of the late Roy E. and Imogene (Doty) (Groux) Siciliano. Following his high school graduation, Roy enlisted in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He was proud to serve his country and had been a member of VFW, Rice Post in Dorchester.

Since 1971 Roy had made his home in Brockton. He had been the proprietor of the Toy House of New England and retired to become a stay at home Dad. Roy and his wife founded the special needs baseball and basketball teams in Brockton and had been honored with many citations on the Roy Groux Day in Brockton. Roy enjoyed cooking, fishing and studying military history. He loved playing Santa Clause and visiting everyone at Christmas. Roy’s true joy in life was his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren and great grandson.

In addition to his wife, Roy is survived by his children Yvette Bedard of So. Carolina, Michael Groux and his wife Diane of Everett, Suzanne Groux of Brockton and Roy W. Groux, Jr. of Brockton. He leaves 7 grandchildren Heather, Michael, Britney, Brett, Catherine, Jayme and Jacob and a great grandson Jayden. He was the brother of Jean Marie Creekmore of Arkansas, Donna Wright of New Jersey, Michael Siciliano of Florida, Michelle Barnish of New Jersey, the late Kathy Siciliano, Ashley Groux, Brian Groux and Kelly Groux all of Canada. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton on Tuesday 4-8 pm. Services with military honors will be held Wednesday at 12:30pm in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
