Julio B. Ferreira, age 69 of Fall River, passed away October 4, 2013. He was the loving husband of Naria M. (Raposo) Ferreira for 49 years. Born in São Miguel, Açores, Julio was the son of the late Jose Ferreira and Maria Jose Benevides. Prior to retirement he worked as a weaver at Quaker Fabrics for many years. He had worked as a police officer in Açores prior to coming to the U.S. in 1974. He was a member of the Don Carlos Club and the Our Lady of Light Band Club (Nossa Da Senhora Da Luz Clubo)
Julio was the loving father of Ana A. Motta (husband Wayne) of Somerset, John J. Ferreira (wife Anabela), Peter M. Ferreira (wife Christine) and Maria J. Ray (companion Bob) all of Fall River; brother of Maria A. Viveiros (husband John) of Fall River; grandfather of Ryan, Megan, Rodney, Eric, Emily, Devon, Faith, Kyle and Brandon; great grandfather of Landon. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. Fall River MONDAY here at 8 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony’s of Padua Church at 9 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours SUNDAY from 5-8 P.M. www.rogersfuneral.com.
