BEVERLY: Jacqueline P. “Jackie” (White) Andrada, 80, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Seacoast Nursing Home in Gloucester. She was the beloved wife of Thiophilos “Ted” Andrada with whom she shared sixty years of marriage.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Herschel and Bea White. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School class of 1951. Later, she graduated from North Shore Community College with an Associate’s degree in Gerontology in 1982.
Jackie travelled around the world, while raising her family, for twenty-eight years while her husband served in the U. S. Air Force.
She worked as the activities director at Hunt Nursing Home, in Danvers for three years. Jackie also once worked at many retail stores throughout her life including, Almys, Empire and Lord & Taylor.
She was an avid golfer, belonging to Bass Rocks Golf Club in Gloucester. She also enjoyed bowling and truly loved the ocean. Many beautiful days were spent at Collins Cove and Salem Willows during her childhood. She later loved sharing the nostalgia of these places with her children and grandchildren. Her greatest love was for her family and friends. Jackie will always be remembered for her loving smile and happy personality.
In addition to her husband, Ted, she is survived by two sons, Steven Andrada and his companion, Karen Angelo, of Andover and Bryan Andrada and his wife, Donna of Beverly; a daughter, Marjorie Barnes and husband Stephen, of Chesapeake, VA and four grandchildren, Kristen, Zachary, Nicholas and Carlee Andrada, who she loved dearly.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday in the Second Congregational Church, 35 Conant St., Beverly at 2 P.M. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot St., Beverly from 3 – 5 P.M. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Spectrum Adult Day Health Program, 600 Cummings Center, Suite 176X, Beverly, MA 01915.
