Obituary

Thomas E. Woolley, 83, of New Bedford died Sunday September 29, 2013 at Sacred Heart Home. He was the husband of Pauline C. (Levesque) Woolley.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Thomas J. and Florida (Pineault) Woolley, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.

He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.

Mr. Woolley was formerly employed as a manager at the A&P Store on Acushnet Avenue in New Bedford and later in Wareham.

During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Navy. An avid sports fan, he loved all of the New England sports teams, but his favorite was following NASCAR races. He enjoyed taking daily walks around Buttonwood Park.

Survivors include his wife; his son, Thomas E. Woolley, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Somerset; his daughter-in-law, Maureen Woolley of New Bedford; five grandchildren, Dr. Adam Woolley and his wife Dr. Kristy Wooler, Ashley Woolley, Alec Woolley, Jeremiah Woolley, and Nicole Piona and her husband Randy; and a great-grandson, Mason Piona.

He was the father of the late Brian J. Woolley.

His Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 9:30 AM at St. Mary's Church, Tarkiln Hill Rd. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
