Obituary

TAUNTON – James A. “Magoo” Halliley, husband of Mary F. (Wyatt) Halliley of Taunton, died at Morton Hospital on Sept. 27, 2013, following a long illness.
He was 61.
Born in Oxnod, CA, he was the son of the late Elmer and Rita (Bernier) Halliley.
Raised in Taunton, Mr. Halliley was a graduate of Taunton High School.
He later served in the U.S. Army.
Employed by Quid Books in Taunton for several years, he was a member of the Elks Lodge 150, the Polish American Civic Club, and the former American Legion Post 103.
An avid Patriots fan, he enjoyed playing pool, and hiking in Maine and Vermont.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Halliley leaves three daughters, Nina Wyatt and Alycia Halliley, both of Taunton, and Kristin Halliley of New Bedford; a sister, Patricia “Patsy” Meack of East Taunton; three brothers, Kenneth and Paul Halliley, both of Fall River, and Peter Halliley of Taunton; three grandchildren, Lee Welch, Martin Smith, III, and William Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Bonita Leal.
Funeral services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday, Oct. 1st at 7:30 p.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
The family will be receiving visitors between the hours of 5 and 7:30 p.m., prior to the services.
