Obituary

SPRINGFIELD – John S. Libiszewski, 77, of the Hungry Hill section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, September 28, 2013. He passed into Eternal Life at his home with his loving companion, Alice, at his side surrounded by all the memories he loved and cherished. He was born in Ludlow on February 17, 1936, a beloved son of the late John and Helen (Lazarz) Libiszewski. He was raised and schooled in Ludlow and lived there for many years before moving to Springfield around 1970. John served his country during the Korean War in the United States Air Force and received the rank of Airman. Following his military service, he returned to Ludlow and was employed for over 25 years as a painter for the City of Springfield. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Donna Lynn Libiszewski. He leaves his lifelong friend, loving companion and caregiver, Alice M. Keane of Springfield; his beloved daughters, Regina Bielen and her husband, Robert, of East Longmeadow, Denise Wysocki and her husband, Mark, of Longmeadow, LynnAnn Tremble and her husband, Charles of the Feeding Hills section of Agawam, and Carol Libiszewski of Springfield; his two cherished grandchildren, Mark and Mikayla Wysocki; his dear brothers and sister, Robert Libiszewski, Richard Libiszewski and Barbara St. Jacques, all of Ludlow; and his many dear nephews and nieces. His funeral service will be held on Friday morning, October 4, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (the funeral home will open at 10 a.m.). His burial will follow the service with Air Force Military Honors at Saint Michael Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield, MA 01109. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, October 3, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Shriners Hospital for Children (Please specify Springfield), 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
