Funeral services for Doris Vernelle Parr Wright, 86, of Ashburn, GA will be held Monday, September 30, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn. Mrs. Wright passed away Friday at Willson Hospice House in Albany, GA following a short illness. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn.
The daughter of the late Byron I. and Emma Lee Spivey Parr, she was born in Arabi, GA. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sycamore Baptist Church. She enjoyed her farm, gardening, reading and crocheting. She was the widow of Albert Lewis Wright and also preceded in death by her son, Larry A. Wright and a son in law Y. T. Belflower, her brothers, Felton Parr and Elton Parr and her sisters, Inez Hand, Gussie Davis and Louise Thomas.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna Belflower and a grandson Jason Belflower both of Ashburn, her sister in law Lillie Wright Scoggins of Sycamore, GA, a large number of nieces and nephews and her cherished little cuddle me doll, Sierra, along with a number of friends and neighbors in the Dakota community where she lived for 64 years.
The family will receive friends Monday morning from 9:30 AM till the hour of services at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn.
