LEICESTER: Michael N. Repekta, 62, of Stafford St. in the Cherry Valley section of Leicester died Tuesday, Sept. 24 in St. Vincent Hospital after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 41 years Deborah S. (Brown) Repekta, two sons Nicholas M. Repekta and his wife Jennifer of Worcester and Adam W. Repekta and his wife Donna of Cherry Valley, three grandchildren Robyn, Janie & Benjamin Repekta, two nephews Joseph Harrington of Calif., and Matthew Harrington of New York City, his two Chihuahuas; Molly & Moe. He is predeceased by a sister Diane M. Harrington.
Mike worked for the Leicester Highway Dept. for 16 years, retiring in 2012; previously he worked for Ed Strout Construction Co. in Worcester for 23 years. He was born in Worcester, the son of Nicholas and Irene (Jakubauskas) Repekta and later graduated from Leicester High School.
He enjoyed antique cars especially his 1930 Model A Ford and 1931 Model A Ford hotrod which he brought to area car shows. He was an avid cook and liked to host family parties. His favorite time was with his family and he adored his grandchildren. He was a former member and chairman of the Leicester Board of Health.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 11a.m. in the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester. Calling hours are Monday from 5 to 7p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Vincent Hospital I.C.U, c/o Wendy Lancey, 23 Summer St., Worcester, Ma. 01608.
