Michael John Dorden, Jr., 27, of Daytona Beach, Florida, formerly of Tifton, died Friday, September 27, 2013, at Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Florida. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Pastor Ronny Vice will officiate and Evangelist Craig Moss will give a eulogy. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery with Earl Perry officiating. Mike Barrett, Carl Hutto, Greg Nelson, Jamie Wilkerson, Brian Houser, Mike Boyce and Jonathan Mihalko will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Dorden was born on July 8, 1986 and was the son of Michael "Mike" John Dorden, Sr. of Tifton and Barbara Dorden of Daytona Beach, Florida. He was self-employed and was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Port Orange, Florida. He was a member of the FFA and enjoyed working with animals. He was also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Daylan Ray Dorden, who died in 1996.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Dorden is survived by one sister, Jessica Nicole Dorden of Daytona Beach, Florida; his paternal grandmother, Iva Dell Dorden of Waldorf, Maryland; his aunts and uncles, Iva Dell Kimmell and husband, Andy of Waldorf, Maryland; Shirley Strawbridge of Cullman, Alabama, Judy Staines of Nashville, Diane Renee of Tifton, Patricia Frederick of Ty Ty and Brenda Staines of Tifton, Daniel Boone of Ray City, David Boone of Sumner, William Boone of Tifton and Stanley Boone of Ty Ty; and numerous cousins.
