Mr. Long worked for 27 years at Gold Mechanical, Inc. He was very dedicated to his work. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golf.
Family members include brother: Jimmy Long and his wife Faye of Augusta, GA; sister: Dell Scheid of Augusta, GA; aunts: Della Yeomans of Waycross, GA, Sara Abney of Atlanta, GA; several nieces and nephews and a son and daughter. He is preceded in death by his brother: Charles H. Long
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Operation Buddy, Mann Memorial United Methodist Church, 2705 Milledgeville Road, Augusta, GA 30904.
