Kenneth Joseph Riel, of Plymouth formerly of Rockland, died on September 27th at Plymouth Crossings at the age of 80. He is survived by his beloved wife Marilyn (Barclay) of Plymouth, his son Stephen Riel and his wife Stephanie of Georgetown, his daughter Cynthia Riel of Rockland and her wife April and his cherished granddaughter Gabrielle Riel of Georgetown. He also leaves his brothers Donald of Norwell and Henry of Brewster.
Kenneth was born in Boston, son of the late Henry and Alice (Jenks) Riel and graduated from Quincy High School. He was very active in the Boy Scouts Troop 57 and was the District Commissioner. Kenneth had worked for Purity Supermarkets for 47 years. He started as a bundle boy and retired working for human resources.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday September 30th from 4 to 8 PM at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State R (Rt 3A), Plymouth (Manomet). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 1st at St. Bonaventure’s Church at 10 AM followed by burial at Vine Hills Cemetery in Plymouth. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Old Colony Council, Boy Scouts of America, 2438 Washington St, Canton, MA 02021.
