Alan “Bruce” White, 69, of Westport passed away Friday, September 27, 2013 at St. Anne’s Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Westport, son of Frances D. (Sheehan) White and the late James B. White, he was a lifelong resident of Westport. Mr. White was a fisherman for various fishing boats out of Westport Point and Alaska.
Including his mother, survivors include a son: David White of Fall River; 2 daughters: Patricia A. Tavares of Fall River and Becky S. White of Fall River; 2 step-sons: Thomas and Steven Carreiro of Newport Richey, FL; 2 brothers: Robert E. White of Walpole and John D. White of Westport; 6 sisters: Florence Jaffe of Dartmouth, Janet White of Dartmouth, Linda White of Seattle, Paula Renaud of Westport, Cynthia Howland of Dartmouth and Deborah Lanctot of NH; 5 grandchildren: Eric, Jeremy, Matthew, Paige and Brendan; 3 granddaughters; a great grandson: Kaelub; and several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Jay, Richard and Jeffrey White.
