Obituary

Ferdinand L. “Val” Valentino, 91 of Marston Mills, died Saturday September 14, after a brief illness in the Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis.

A life long Medford resident, Val lived the past 2 years in Marston Mills. He was the son of the late Celia (DeNapoli) and Anthony Valentino. Val was a Court Officer with the Middlesex Superior Court for 20 years and retired in 1988. He also was the former owner of his father’s barber shop, Val’s Barber Shop in Haines Sq., Medford, for many years. Val served during World War II in the U. S. Army. He was past Commander of the ITAM Post 8 in Medford and a member of the Medford VFW Post 1012 and DAV.

Beloved husband of Virginia (Grant) Valentino. Loving brother of Blanche DiNapoli of Chestnut Hill, Robert Valentino and his wife Doris of Marlboro. Cherished uncle of Lisa and Bianca DiNapoli, Robert Clark, Richard Mader, Deborah Donnellan, Patricia Smith, Beverly Carpenter, Cynthia DiCiaccio and the late Susan Rowell.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford Saturday at 12 Noon. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family from 10-12 noon. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. A memorial mass will be held at a later date.
