WEBSTER - Barbara A. (Warner) Gevry, 74, died Tuesday, September 23, 2013 in UMass Medical Center, Worcester. Her husband of 50 years, William J. Gevry, Sr., died in 2009.
She leaves 6 children, William J. & his wife Joanne Gevry of Oxford, James M. & Marlene Gevry of Putnam, CT, Timothy P. & his wife Luann Gevry, Deborah M. Gevry, Rodney A. Gevry and Kenneth W. & his wife Tammy Gevry all of Webster; 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Norman Gevry in 1974.
She was born in Chelsea the daughter of Frank and Mary (Lindsay) Shimkus.
Mrs. Gevry worked as a machine operator at Sandlerette and was later employed at both Anglo Fabrics and Webster Manor. She enjoyed bingo, bowling, painting and crocheting.
The funeral will be held Friday, September 27, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street (please meet at the church). Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday, September 26, in Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.
