Obituary

HAVERHILL: Earle L. Foster, Sr., 81, died peacefully at home on Friday, September 20, 2013 after a brief illness.
Born on March 7, 1932 in Swampscott, he was the son of the late Robert and Dora (Mc Diarmid) Foster. He was a graduate of Saugus High School and received his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from San Diego State University. He worked as a field service representative for Bath Iron Works in Maine until his retirement in 1997 and previously for GE River Works in Lynn.
Earle enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1952 and proudly served our country during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal in 1954. Earle traveled worldwide throughout his career and was an avid golfer, who enjoyed playing on many different courses around the world.
He is survived by his son, Earle L. Foster, Jr., and his wife Debra of Acton, ME and his daughter, Kathleen A. Ricker of Georgetown; three grandchildren, Jeffrey M. Ricker and his wife, April, Kelly F. Ricker and Gabriel M. Foster; two great-grandchildren, Samantha C. Ricker and Stone F. Ricker; one sister, Norma Oliver of Creston, British Columbia; one brother, Robert Foster and his wife, Shirley of Ipswich; former wife, Bertha Foster of Georgetown and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his two sisters, Frances Lizzo and Phyllis Rollins; one brother, Roy Foster; two brothers-in-law, George Oliver and Rudy Lizzo.
Funeral services for Earle will be privately held at the request of the family. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
