Obituary

SALEM - John “Jack” Anderson, Sr., 71, of Salem, husband of Claire (Manning) Anderson, passed away at home Thursday, September 19, 2013 after a brief illness, with his family at his side.

Born, raised and educated in Peabody, he was the son of the late George and Evelyn (Miller) Anderson.

Jack was employed at the South Essex Sewerage District in Salem for over 30 years.

He enjoyed traveling, cruising and casino trips. He also enjoyed playing his lottery everyday at his favorite Kwik Shop Store. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of the Danvers Fish & Game and the National Rifle Association.

Besides his wife, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage, he is survived by his sons John P. Anderson, Jr. of Salem, Kevin Anderson of Peabody, Richard and his wife Cheri Anderson of Litchfield, NH, daughters Beth and her husband Raymond LaMacchia of Lynn, Jane and her husband Kevin Starion of Salem, his sister-in-law, Jane Froncki and his best friend Stan Froncki of Salem and a brother-in-law John and his wife Cyndi Manning . He also leaves 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, a brother Thomas and his wife Carol Anderson of Cambridge, NY, his sisters, Priscilla and her husband Daniel Payne of Middleton, Mary Davis of Lynn and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 10 at the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. Visiting hours are Monday, 4 to 8 pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Cemetery services are private.
